OVERVIEW
This is not a traditional camp.
Poppy Street’s Summer Culinary Atelier is a small-group, chef-led experience where children step into the role of chef, baker, and host—learning through hands-on production, teamwork, and real hospitality.
Each week builds toward a culminating live service, where caregivers are welcomed as guests for a thoughtfully prepared lunch or dinner.
Bakery Mornings — The Art of the Micro-Bakery
Participants develop foundational baking skills while creating a cohesive bakery collection.
Campers will:
- Bake delicious things.
- Learn about bakery production and organization.
- Explore simple packaging and display
- Present their work in a café-style setting
Culmination: A Poppy Street Bakery Pop-Up with caregiver guests
Restaurant Afternoons — From Kitchen to Dining Room
Participants learn how to run a restaurant—from menu creation to service execution.
Campers will:
- Prepare seasonal menu items
- Learn kitchen organization and teamwork
- Practice plating and presentation
- Step into front-of-house roles and host guests
Culmination: A Poppy Street Restaurant Pop-Up with caregiver guests

Day 1 — Foundations
Kitchen orientation, ingredient education, core skills
Day 2 — Technique
Hands-on production, repetition, and refinement
Day 3 — Rehearsal
Menu development, role assignment, mock service
Day 4 — Live Service
Children prepare, plate, and host caregivers as guests
