Early Dismissal Workshops

Kids Only | Ages 5–12*
Monday - Friday During Conference Week
1.5-hour workshop, 1:30-3:30pm

Our Early Dismissal Workshops are 1.5-hour, hands-on culinary and hospitality workshops designed to support families on early release days and conference weeks—when school ends early but the afternoon still needs structure.

Children will work collaboratively in a relaxed, social setting blending cooking, baking, creativity, and hospitality projects in a shortened format that’s perfect for after school.

Workshops are staffed with a 6:1 adult child ratio and led by CPR & First Aid trained adults with professional expertise and talent in areas of cooking, baking, crafting and gardening.

For safety, children do not use knives or ovens allowing kids to focus on the production process, creativity, team work and broader understanding of hospitality.

Schedule

3/9 -

Sand, Soil & Sablé: A Sensory Studio:

Students explore texture through seasonal succulent planting and French sablé cookies.

Students will layer sand, plant succulents, and bake sandy-textured sablé cookies — discovering how attention to detail builds confidence in both garden and kitchen.

3/10 -

Flowers & Cookies: Design Your Own Bakery Box

Students create a cookie collection using edible flowers and creative design.

Each child will design, decorate, and package their own bakery box — learning how beauty, branding, and hospitality come together.

3/11 -

pH & Pea Flowers: A Culinary Science Lab

A hands-on kitchen chemistry experience exploring natural pigments and reactions.

Students will whip vibrant blue cream, experiment with lemonade, observe color transformations, and author their own recipe cards to take home.

3/12 -

Color & Cookies: The Organic Baking Lab

Students explore natural food coloring using organic ingredients and plant-based pigments.

This workshop blends baking precision with experimentation as children design their own naturally colored cookie creations.

3/13 -

Pie Dough for Pi Day: Math, Mise en Place & Baking Basics

A behind-the-scenes look at how bakeries prep for 3.14.

Students make pie dough from scratch, line their own tins, practice mise en place, and learn the secrets of cold french butter, cold water, and planning ahead — then head home with a ready-to-bake pie shell for Pi Day.
